NORFACE Research Programme Migration in Europe -
Funding decisions
NORFACE has decided to grant funding to twelve projects in its research
programme on "Migration in Europe - Social, Economic, Cultural and Policy
Dynamics". The funded projects will start late 2009 and have a maximum duration
of four years. The funding granted to the transnational projects ranges between
500.000 € and 3.8 million €. Altogether 240 outline proposals were received to
the research programme call. Of these 45 were invited to submit a Full Proposal.

NORFACE Conference 'Crossing Boundaries in Social Science Research'
NORFACE organized its second Conference 17th September 2009 in Brussels. The
Conference brought together some 70 representatives of the NORFACE funding
organisations, universities and the European Commission.

NORFACE Relemerge Conference in London
The NORFACE research programme on Re-emergence of Religion as a Social
Force in Europe? organized its Conference 22nd - 23rd April 2009 at
the Goldsmiths College in London. The Conference brought together
members of the ten projects funded from the programme to share their
work and to debate the issue of social force. The funded projects look
at the significance of religion in contemporary social life and
explore the social and cultural impacts of recent religious growth
points, such as Pentecostalism and Islam. The NORFACE programme on
Religion was launched in March 2007 and will continue through 2010.

Second Round Launched
SECOND ROUND IS NOW CLOSED
NORFACE has launched the second round of its call for proposals in its
Transnational Research Programme with the theme
Migration in Europe - Social,
Economic, Cultural and Policy Dynamics. Only the 45 proposals invited to submit
a Full Proposal are eligible to apply on the second round. The Full Proposals
are invited with the deadline 30th January 2009, 17:00 CET.

NORFACE Research Programme:
Call for proposals - THE CALL IS NOW CLOSED
NORFACE ERA-NET has launched a call for proposals in its
Transnational Research Programme with the theme
Migration in Europe - Social, Economic, Cultural
and Policy Dynamics and a total budget of about
23 million €. The funded projects should, as a minimum,
include research teams in three different NORFACE countries.
Researchers from countries where migration originates
can be included in the research teams when relevant.
NORFACE aims to fund trans-European research projects
in the scope of 500.000 - 4 million € under the
following three themes:
- Migration - Causes and Consequences
- Integration
- Cohesion and Conflict

NORFACE Migration in Europe:
Full Proposals invited by 30th January 2009
The first stage of the NORFACE research programme on
Migration in
Europe - Social, Economic, Cultural and Policy Dynamics closed on
10th September 2008. Of the 240 submitted outline proposals 237 were
found eligible. The eligible proposals are currently being evaluated
by international experts. All applicants will be informed after
mid-November whether they are invited to submit a Full Proposal. The
successful applicants will be invited to submit a Full Proposal using
the EPSS by 30th January 2009.
