In 2007 NORFACE launched a research programme on "Re-emergence of Religion as a Social Force in Europe?" from which ten proposals were selected for funding. Connected to this research programme NORFACE launched in 2008 a call on capacity building within the same theme. The objectives of the capacity building call were to:
- improve cross-border collaboration in capacity building through researcher
- improve the participation of young and early career researchers in NORFACE activities
- encourage creative thinking in developing capacity building schemes.
The competition provided a new opportunity for researchers to become involved in the programme on "Re-emergence of Religion as a Social Force in Europe?"
The NORFACE Network Board made the decision to grant funding to two successful projects. The projects granted funding and their Principal Investigators are:
